Baseball Fielding Drills Using a SwingAway

Fun baseball fielding drill for coaches to teach baseball players how to have “soft hands” when they field a ground ball. www.baseball-training-instruction.com Two key reference points… 1. Players start with their glove and bare hand out in front of their feet when fielding a ground ball. 2. As the player fields the ball he brings the glove back towards his body to “soften” or absorb the impact of the ball going into the glove. When players do not absorb the ball they tend to have hard hands which results in balls bouncing out of their glove.
